About Muhammad

Dr Cheema joined Waikato Management School in January 2019 as a Senior Lecturer in Finance. Previously, he has held academic appointments at KIMEP University Kazakhstan, Curtin University Malaysia, and Lincoln University New Zealand.

Dr Cheema has published several articles in leading international journals including the International Review of Finance, Pacific-Basin Finance Journal, Energy Economics, International Review of Economics & Finance, and Applied Economics.

Dr Cheema has won several best paper awards at leading international conferences, such as CFA Society's Best Paper award at the 2019 New Zealand Finance Colloquium.
