Dr Cheema joined Waikato Management School in January 2019 as a Senior Lecturer in Finance. Previously, he has held academic appointments at KIMEP University Kazakhstan, Curtin University Malaysia, and Lincoln University New Zealand.
Dr Cheema has published several articles in leading international journals including the International Review of Finance, Pacific-Basin Finance Journal, Energy Economics, International Review of Economics & Finance, and Applied Economics.
Dr Cheema’s work has been featured several times in the financial press, economics think tanks, and association of investment professionals including the CFA Society, VoxEU, Centre for Economic Policy Research, Wirtschaftswoche, and Morningstar.
