Future Innovators Challenge
Waikato Management School invites secondary school students in years 11 - 13 to check out what university campus life is like and test out their aspiring business brains at our Future Innovators challenge.
What is 'Future Innovators'?
Future Innovators will be similar to the previous 'Entrepreneur for a Day' event, which aims to give students some insight into what life is like at university.
Secondary students will come to Waikato Management School for a day, work in a team on a topical business case, attend a lecture, have lunch in the Halls of residence and present a solution to a panel of judges.
Teams will be paired with a current Waikato Management School student who will guide them throughout the day.
Prizes will be up for grabs!
Secondary school students are often unsure on what happens at university and how it is different from high school. This day has been constructed to show some insight on just that.
Some benefits for prospective students include:
- Get a taste of university life
- Introduction to a variety of management subjects
- Check out the University of Waikato campus
- See what a lecture is like
- Have lunch in one of the Halls of Residence
- Mix and mingle with current university students
All secondary school students in years 11 - 13 are welcome to come along and take part.
Students do not have to be studying business studies to participate. Concepts will be introduced throughout the day, and mentors will be there to provide guidance. We welcome individual registrations or team entries through your School. Please note spaces are limited and will be given out on a first-in-first served basis.
What is expected from schools?
Schools may register teams (3-5 students per team) and send an accompanying teacher OR they can leave students to it. Schools who do not wish to enter teams can refer interested students to apply for an individual registration.
