46th Waikato Management School Case Competition

A Semester 2019 - Company: ZURU Edge

Details of the Case
Company name
Case synopsis In September 2017, Rascal and Friends nappies launched exclusively across all Foodstuff stores (Pak’nSave, New World and Four Square) nationwide and became an overnight success. Just eight weeks after launch, Rascal and Friends overtook Treasures, a 50+ year old Australasian brand, as the number two nappy brand in New Zealand.  But the launch of Rascal and Friends in New Zealand was just the beginning.  Nick Mowbray and the ZURU Edge people behind the Rascal and Friends launch wanted global success across multiple FMCG categories.  Five ‘billion dollar brands in five years’ was the goal.  Come and see how our top four teams in the 46th WMS Case Competition look to achieve that.
Case authors Steve Bowden, Liam Whittaker (Waikato Management School)
Judges James Paterson (ASB), Liam Whittaker & Paige Harris (ZURU Edge), Greg Johnston (Manta5) and Susannah Leydon-Davis (Agoge)
