Pacific Island-New Zealand Migration Study

The Pacific Island-New Zealand Migration Study (PINZMS) is a comprehensive cross-country study designed to measure multiple aspects of the migration process.

The unique feature of PINZMS is that it enables comparisons of immigrants who enter New Zealand through a random ballot with unsuccessful participants in the same ballots who remain in their home countries in the Pacific Islands.

The overall objective of the research is to increase our understanding of the possible benefits and challenges that migration provides in New Zealand, the Pacific Islands and more widely.
